March Mixed Texas Scramble Results

The final mixed texas scramble for this winter took place on 11th March on a pleasant albeit slightly windy day.

Before the results were announced, Captain Lesley Cheslin pointed out that this was the penultimate competition for which she would present the prizes so she took the opportunity to thank, on behalf of herself and Charles,  various people who had worked hard to make their year a success.  She thanked Lynda McCarthy and all the Match and Competitions team, Richard Dorrington and the ground staff, James Lamond and the course committee, Stuart and the bar staff and kitchen staff.

Tony Stokes announced the results for the M&C team but before giving the results he in turn thanked Lesley and Charles for all the work that they had put in during their captains' year.  He then proceeded to announce the results.

In 3rd place were Brigid Carrington, Peter Minshaw, Hugh Matthews and Tony Ranger.

The 2nd place team were Michelle Morrison, Ian Lawrence, Steve Thompson and Andrew Taylor.

1st place, with a nett score of 60 and winning by a few shots was the team of Breda Stokes, David Arundel, Eddie Garry and James Leggitt.

In making his speech as captain for the winning team James thanked M&C and complemented the ground staff on the course.  He also thanked the captains - his parents - commenting on how much effort he had seen them put in.
