When Irish Eyes are Smiling

Irish eyes - along with English, Scottish, Welsh and half Italian eyes - were smiling all afternoon at the St Patrick's Lunch at the Golf Club.  A great lunch, washed down with copious pints of Guiness and a host of other beverages, was enjoyed before the entertainment began.

Richard, Billy & Mo began their music as the liqueurs were served - Pocheen (don't tell the revenue!), Bushmills & Baileys were on offer to go with the coffee to help to further mellow the crowd.

With Patrick Fleming as "the compere who wasn't really there" one of the best supported social events of the year lived up to expectations - with dancing & singing from club members to complement the music and singing of the trio.  Richard & Mo were ready with their keyboard and guitar  as the club members sang their favourite Irish (and other) songs and it only took a few bars before Richard had identified the key and was adding music to the singing.

Thanks were expressed to Patrick Fleming for organising yet another great St Patricks Day lunch but he downplayed it in his usual way.  "The Irish don't organise things - they just let them happen - Sure and t'will be all right when it happens" he said - or I think he did anyway - he was extremely mellow by then.
Next Year's lunch will be on 19th March.  Book now if you want to be sure of getting in - tickets will go fast.
