The Captains' Final Fling

A sensational evening was in store when the Sensations returned to Kenilworth Golf Club to provide the entertainment for Nina’s & Tony’s Final Fling on Saturday 19th March.  As Sue Draper reminded us, the last time they came was summer 2014 when Jackie & Ron held their Captains’ Ball in the Marquee.  This time they had to squeeze their equipment into the upper room but they were able to do so and still leave room for dancing.

Following an excellent buffet meal featuring Beef in a Red Wine Sauce and Cajun Chicken Nina & Tony spoke briefly to offer their thanks to the staff and members of the club who had supported them so well through the year.  They gave particular thanks and gifts to their spouses (spice?) who had been such a tremendous support throughout that time.

Sue Draper then introduced the band and DJ and invited Nina and Tony to begin the evening’s dancing.

After a few exquisite circuits of the dance floor, they brought Vice Captains Lesley & Charles onto the floor to give them a taste of the spotlight as they approach the start of their year in 3 weeks time.

They were soon joined by other revellers keen to show their twirls to the Strictly recruiters in the audience.

The Sensations

With the band providing their great music dancing was enthusiastic throughout the evening.  Chris and David Machin provided an exhibition of Jive but sadly their dark outfits did not stand out well so the photos taken would not do justice to their efforts.  Dancing went on till midnight – with some refusing to leave the floor even while the band were packing up their equipment - as seen below.
